Senate Action on WOTUS

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee is holding a hearing on Wednesday, September 16 on the new WOUTS rule. The hearing will be held at 10 a.m. in 106 Dirksen and via webcast. As I have said many times, Congress needs to fix the WOTUS problem, and not leave it up to EPA and the Corps. If this is a first step toward that end, I applaud it. Hopefully, it will be more than just a show hearing.

The witnesses will be:

  • Ray Gaesser, owner and operator of Gaesser Farms.

  • Douglas Davis, president and CEO of Fletcher Davis Co.

  • Rebecca Roose, director of the Water Protection Division at the New Mexico Environment Department.
